“Achieve is like a weight. You use weights to get stronger. Achieve is helping me get stronger in and out of the classroom. Achieve is my path to a greater life as an adult.”

—Achieve Student

We recruit Achieve scholars during the student’s sixth-grade year, and students begin their three-year commitment with us in the summer before seventh grade. Scholars graduate just before the start of their ninth-grade school year. We provide intensive support through the high school application and selection process, and work in conjunction with our partner schools to ensure our scholars attend high schools that are a strong fit for them. Our success would not be possible without the support of teachers, guidance counselors and administrators from our partner schools.

You: You’re a good student, motivated, eager to learn. Your teachers in Boston know you have what it takes to soar, and your parents are right there supporting you. You want to take advantage of opportunities that will enrich your academic talents and you are ready to do the hard work that it takes to succeed.

Achieve: We’re here to help you reach your goals. We’ll provide the classrooms, outstanding teachers and tutors, delicious meals, supportive tutors — and we’re even going to offer some hip hop dance, yoga and other fun enrichment classes that you might not think will make you a better student, but trust us, they will.

Together: We’ll spend three years together — three six-week summer sessions and every other Saturday during the school year for two years. We’re all going to roll up our sleeves and get to work in small classes where we get to know you — we will build on your strengths and fill the gaps where you need the kind of individual help that your home schools can’t always provide. We know our program works. Every student in Achieve is a success. We mean it: every student. That means you.
